What is Personal Training with a Kinesiologist?

Personal training at our Burnaby Kensington studio is a one-on-one or small-group service with a kinesiologist who is a certified Personal Trainer.  They have a 4-year degree in kinesiology or human kinetics and a personal training certification.


This education provides them with advanced scientific knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology. Personal Trainers work closely with you to achieve your specific health and fitness goals. 

How We Coach and Progress Programs.

Our approach to Personal Training and strength training builds movement resilience and confidence. We are constantly observing how each movement is performed.


We teach and coach clients on each exercise to ensure it is completed correctly. This maximizes movement efficiency and prevents injury. 


We are focused on functional results, not just making people sweat! Clients are only challenged with new loads, movement speeds, or movement depths when the current level is mastered.  


How do Personal Trainers Communicate with Clients?

The relationship between the personal trainer and the client needs to be mutually beneficial and respectful.  We meet the client where they are in their training experience and fitness journey.


We are here to support clients in achieving their fitness goals, not ours. Our Burnaby Heights Personal Trainers appreciate feedback and questions from clients during and in between appointments.


If clients have difficulty with an exercise, we find another one that meets the movement goal. Continuous reciprocal conversations provide accountability for the trainer and the client.

Yes, our personal trainers work with youth because it is important for us to contribute to the Burnaby community. 


One way is to teach young adults how to lift and move effectively to maximize sport performance, build strength, and learn movement patterns that empower them to thrive throughout their lifespan.

Private and small-group personal training sessions are led by kinesiologist and personal trainer Ryan Schmidt, He combines his lived experience training for professional football and coaching youth through professional programs with the scientific knowledge from his undergraduate degree to help you reach your goals.

Our values include providing a space and services for a diverse number of people. We opened a quieter fitness experience in Burnaby to include people with autism, ADHD and AuADHD.
