There are opportunities for individuals who want to join a growing collaborative group of colleagues in Burnaby.

We are all working to make a positive difference in our clients' lives and in the lives of those with whom we work.

Alfred's mission is to create a safer, flexible work environment for neurodivergent health, wellness, fitness, and rehabilitation professionals, including those with ADHD, autism, and AuADHD.

What Type of Professional is Lifemoves Looking for?

We are more concerned with connecting with people who share similar values than with the types of services they provide. Lifemoves' founder and owner, Alfred, is neurodivergent

We hope neurodivergent health professionals who are tired of overstimulating environments, of being misunderstood, and of not receiving the accommodations they need.

Lifemoves is open to providing opportunities to a wide variety of health, fitness, wellness, and rehabilitation professionals.

Our motto is Thrive in All Seasons of Life™To us, this means we want to support people throughout their lifespan in a variety of ways. Different seasons are not just about age. It includes different life stages.

We want nutritionists, Yoga instructors, Pilates instructors, acupuncturists, life coaches, vocational rehab professionals, physiotherapists, chiropractors, fitness instructors, massage therapists, psychologists, counsellors, and others, even if they want to work remotely, to apply.

What is the Physical Environment Like at Lifemoves?

Lifemoves is Sensory-Safe and Fragrance-Free

First, Lifemoves in Burnaby is purpose-built to be sensory-safe and scent-free. Alfred was burnt out from working in gyms and clinics where everything could be heard, so it was difficult for him to process information.

Since the building is over twenty years old, adjusting the acoustics is a work in progress. We are continuously evaluating how sound travels and making adjustments along the way. Our goal is for the treatment rooms, the strength and conditioning rooms and the movement studio to be as sound proof as possible.

Is Lifemoves Wheelchair Accessible?

Unfortunately, as of July 2026, no. Our aim is to be accessible to everyone. It is an older building with two sets of eleven stairs that are 7" high.  These are manageable for many. Anyone with a walker who can climb stairs can be assisted.

When Lifemoves grows enough, we'd like to find an affordable solution to change this.

Lifemoves Has a Lot of Natural Light

Second, we have many windows that let in plenty of natural light during the day.  If you are tired of working in dark places or in treatment rooms with only overhead lighting, then this place is for you.  Our boutique studio's neighbour to the east and north is the Trans-Canada Trail. We are also located across the street from Kensington Park.

This means the two spacious treatment rooms each have a window overlooking the forest. Practitioners enjoy observing the changing seasons.

Additionally, the movement studio and strength room each have a deck on the north and south sides. They have wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows.

Professionals can easily step outside for fresh air. Our long-term goal is to create these beautiful spaces for treatments, meetings with colleagues, and meal breaks.

What Are the Treatment Rooms Like at Lifemoves?

Our treatment rooms are spacious and private. We have two that are available. They are both twenty feet long by close to ten feet long.

Additionally, they have dimmable lights. One is fully furnished with a desk and a foldable treatment table. The second one is a work in progress.

We are happy to help outfit and design a flexible workspace for a practitioner who shares a vision and values similar to Lifemoves. They both have a window facing the forest.

These rooms are also being evaluated for their acoustic quality. A medium-term goal is to make them as soundproof as possible.

Can You Describe the Movement Studio and Strength and Conditioning Areas?

The Movement Studio is on the south end, while the strength room is on the north end.  Both are spacious areas to move around in, and they can fit two to three professionals with clients working alongside them.

As of July 2026, the main flooring is carpet tiles and concrete.  The flooring will be changed to cork in the future. We will also have a 20' x 10' tiled turf that can be put down and removed as needed.

The movement studio is the larger one and is suitable for fitness, sports conditioning, Yoga, and mat Pilates classes with 4-8 participants.

While the summer sun can be glorious, it does get warm. We will be adding find ways to keep it cool, like adding shades in the future.

The strength room is a little narrower. It has a fully equipped half-squat rack, a turf area that is fifteen feet long and four and a half feet wide, adjustable weights from 5-75lbs, and other small pieces of exercise equipment. Practitioners are welcome to add to this, as long as others can use it as well.
